Lee Ann Kurr (she/her) is a writer, director, producer, and tall person. She comes from a classical acting background, having trained with the London Dramatic Academy, the American Shakespeare Center, the Harrisburg Shakespeare Festival, and the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey. 

She creates female-centered coming-of-age narratives, driven by transformative encounters with the fantastical, the bizarre, or the horrific.

Lee Ann’s feature script PERSEPHONE, a rom-com re-imagining of the Greek myth, was an Academy Nicholl Fellowship Semifinalist.

STUDENT BODY, which she wrote, directed, and co-produced, is her debut feature. The film stars Christian Camargo (See, The Hurt Locker, Dexter), Montse Hernandez (Jane the Virgin), Cheyenne Haynes (Camping), Harley Quinn Smith (Cruel Summer, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Anthony Keyvan (Love, Victor), and Austin Zajur (Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark). STUDENT BODY is represented by MPX Films and distributed by 1091 Pictures.

Lee Ann lives in Los Angeles with her husband and her surviving plants.
